The Inaugural "National Youth Baseball Championships" Tournament-scheduled to be played in Memphis, Tennessee from August 21-24, 2008 will be the initial effort of the "Major Youth Baseball Alliance, LLC." This year's Event will feature 10-under and 12-under divisions which includes participation nationally of more than 100,000 teams. Plans include expanding the tournament to host as many as eight different age groups in the future.
The member MYBA Organizations, include AABC (American Amateur Baseball Congress), AAU (Amateur Athletic Union of the United States), Babe Ruth Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, NABF (National Amateur Baseball Federation), Pony Baseball, Super Series Baseball of America and USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) each member organization will send the 2008 Champions of their respective age groups.
The AAU National Champions from the 12 & Under Tournament being held in Richmond, VA and the AAU National Champion from the 10 & Under tournament being held at Disney's Wide World of Sports will represent AAU BASEBALL in this year's event.
The city of Memphis, Tennessee, has been selected to host the "National Youth Baseball Championships" through 2010. All Tournament Games will be played at the 10-diamond Gameday Baseball First Tennessee Fields.
